YOU ARE LIGHT

Scripture Reading - Matthew 5:14-16

14 Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid.
15 Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house.
16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven. KJV

The scripture tells us that all Christians are a light to all those that are in darkness. The very words of Jesus Christ proclaim to His followers, “You are the light of the world”. Since we know that Jesus is “The Light” when the Lord tells us we are the light of the world He is basically telling us that we are presenting Him to others. A major purpose of light is to help people to see things clearly. Once people can see things clearly they can make better decisions. When better decisions are made people can avoid the traps and snares of the enemy. We can understand that the people in darkness can not see the pit falls of the devil and that is why Jesus told us to give His Light to all. As soon as people are enlightened it will help them to accomplish God’s tasks, goals, and desires. Having knowledge of God gives light to people’s understanding and seeing God’s Love helps bring light for people to see God physically. However, the order is important when ministering to those in darkness. Please show God’s Love first to all people so that when they see the brightness of your life they will start asking questions. The Love of God’s will light the way toward the knowledge of God to shine upon their mind. Remember every good thing you do as a Christian is helping people to see God more clearly. Performing these good works of love is exactly how we glorify our Heavenly Father in light of Jesus Christ. Amen!
